Do you have a caring heart and would like to have boatloads of fun with some really great people? We’re looking for volunteers and captains for our boating and fishing cruises. Our volunteers are well-trained individuals who have a caring heart for the people we serve.
When you share your time volunteering with us, you’ll help people of all ages with varying levels of disability experience healthy, therapeutic, fun activities such as: fishing, bird watching, kite flying, singing, and making new memories in the company of new and familiar faces, while cruising on a lake in the fresh air and sunshine.
You’ll help make these activities available to those who would otherwise not have access, means, opportunity, or ability to participate, and you’ll also help us celebrate, honor, and show appreciation for our seniors and veterans.
Captains must be 26 years of age, and have a valid driver’s license. Volunteers may select their preference of groups to serve, shift schedule, and may fill in for others’ shifts on an on-call basis. We prefer that our volunteers serve for 2 shifts per month or more, to keep skills sharp and training up to date. Our volunteers may also participate in banquets, fundraising events, recognition events, and on-shore teaching and training activities.
Additional volunteers on board include sponsors and facility staff/caregivers, depending on guest requirements.
